Gum Lift (Crown Lengthening Procedure)
Sometimes a patient will have excessive gum tissue resulting in a "gummy" smile. The gums cover over part of the teeth which make the teeth appear short. As a result, the gums appear overbearing and the teeth are not allowed to fill out the smile. To correct this, the gums and underlying tissue are re-contoured for a more natural-looking smile. The pictures featured here are of a patient who had the gums on the front 4 teeth reshaped. Following that, she received 4 porcelain restorations - a mix of veneers and crowns - to complete her smile.
